Building a Multi-Monitor Crypto Trading Desk: Tear-Off, Link & Lock

TradingView multi-monitor crypto desk illustration

Crypto watching is intense and 24/7 — one screen isn't enough. The desktop tear-off is native (the web only fakes it with multiple browser windows); windows stay linked and the whole layout saves and restores.

Tear-off and lock

  1. On a chart tab, choose split to a new window; the chart becomes an independent OS window;
  2. Drag it to the target display and maximize; repeat for watchlists, depth and the alert log;
  3. In window settings, lock to display so each returns to its screen after a restart.

Three-screen setup

Give windows the same link group so changing the coin on one changes them all — click a row and every screen switches together.

Tip: the more screens, the more GPU acceleration helps. Save a named layout for the multi-screen setup, switch to single-screen on a laptop, and restore in one click. Download desktop.
